Location
The Hideaway is located in Hammondsport, in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. It's a 5-minute drive to Keuka Lake and 20 minutes to Watkins Glen & Seneca Lake.
Guest Capacity
Due to safety and the unique attributes of the Hideaway, the maximum guest count is 8 people, including all guests age 24 months and older.
Mobile Phone Service
Because of the terrain and distance from cell phone towers, there is very limited to no mobile phone reception at the Hideaway. We recommend enabling "WiFi Calling" on your mobile device to make and receive phone calls while connected to WiFi. Subject to satellite disruptions and cannot be guaranteed.
Amenities
- Kitchen: Fully equipped with oven, stove, dishwasher, cookware, coffee maker, and other essentials.
- Bedding and towels: All provided, with extras available for guests.
- Internet and entertainment: The Hideaway is equipped with Starlink Internet and several TVs with Hulu and Prime Video. Internet speeds can vary depending on network usage and satellite locations. For most guests, the internet works well for HD video streaming. However, both audio and video calls will experience intermittent dropouts.
Well Water
The Hideaway water is supplied by well water, a natural source that provides fresh, minimally processed water and contributes to the property's rustic charm and eco-friendly ethos.
Well water may taste and smell different due to its natural mineral content. Conservation is encouraged due to reliance on groundwater levels. The well water at The Hideaway is naturally soft, offering a smoother feel on the skin and more efficient soap lathering.
Guests who are uncomfortable with well water are urged to bring their own bottled water.
Septic System & Bidets
The Hideaway uses a septic system and provides bidets for an eco-friendly and hygienic stay. Bidets help reduce toilet paper use. Please follow guidelines for septic system care to protect the environment and ensure a pleasant experience.
Parking
The Hideaway offers ample parking space and can accommodate up to 6 cars.
Accessibility
The Hideaway is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring a ramp entrance, 2 accessible first-floor bedrooms with wide doorways, and a roll-in shower. Those needing extra assistance may benefit from staying with supportive friends or family. For more details or specific inquiries, please contact us.
Smoking Policy
Smoking or vaping inside The Hideaway is not permitted. Guests who wish to smoke must do so away from the cabin to prevent smoke from entering indoors. Cigarette butts must be properly disposed of to avoid fire hazards—do not place them in trash cans. Thank you for respecting this policy and helping us maintain a safe and clean environment for all guests.
